Although it left some odd questions behind, Ron Moore's three-hour "Galactica" finale had all the qualities of a great sci-fi feature film. It was inventive, fun, nostalgic, emotional, loaded with action, ironic, spiritual, redemptive, well-acted, sad, sweet, and concluded on an ominous note of here-we-go-again.
IMO, it was the best piece of sci-fi television I've ever seen, and the best work that Ron Moore has written to date.
