To be honest, J.J. Abrams' reboot of "Star Trek"--while very ambitious--did not really blow me away as much as others who are raving over the movie. I enjoyed it, yet the entire product smelled of overachievement, as if every single frame was bursting at the seams with the message "This is a whole new Trek!"
Yes, I got that. Over and over again.
Yet I'm still pleased that after the glory days of TNG, "Star Trek" has received the revival it so badly needed and richly deserved.
