Although I was not terribly excited going in, I found Ron Howard’s follow-up to “The DiVinci Code” in “Angels & Demons” to be a far smoother and more satisfying product than his prior adaption of Dan Brown's holy pulp adventures.
Not only is the story of “Angels” (which again features Tom Hanks as Professor Robert Langdon) better managed than its predecessor, it’s far less plodding despite a clunky, chase-filled concept of the Catholic Church facing a revenge plot from a very old enemy.
Overall, “Angels & Demons” is best enjoyed by simply unhinging your brain, and going along for the ride. It's better that way.
