If the Harry Potter saga is--as some believe--partly modeled by author J.K. Rowling after "Star Wars," then "The Half-Blood Prince" is it's "Empire Strikes Back" - a chapter which is by far the darkest and least fanciful versus previous ones.
In short, "Prince" shows Harry Potter and his pals entering adulthood, and facing all of the unsheltered risks that go with it. It is also by favorite of the "Potter" films thus far (ranking just ahead "The Goblet of Fire"), and accomplished something that none of the previous episodes really managed to do: it made me want to see more.
