Cry Wolf

Although not an entirely unpragmatic move, a Senate subcommittee’s decision today to strike language regarding end-of-life counseling (AKA: advance directives, “death panels”) in current healthcare reform measures, is troubling as it demonstrates how easy it is to exploit the fears of senior Americans with images of Stalinism.

So I gotta give Sarah Palin credit here: she really knows how to scare old people, and lie through her teeth for political gain.

Good for her.
